The Isabel evokes a feeling of elegance. Of stepping back into a period of time when the afternoon tea was more than just refreshment, it was an event. One to be savoured, shared with family, friends and acquaintances who would nibble on cucumber sandwiches, sip strongly brewed tea and discuss the events of the day. Grace and style were the watchwords of the time and afternoon tea was the embodiment of these ideas.

This tea is no less elegant, but a lot more delicious. Salmon filled croissants, stacked tomato caprese, peppermint shots, scones drenched in lashings of organic jam and fresh cream – these are just a few of the beautiful treats that await your special event when you book the Isabel with us at Café Hemingway’s.

*The Great Gatsby and Marie Antoinette High Tea Experiences are elegant, decadent experiences that you just have to try!

*Marie Antoinette accommodates a minimum of ten guests and Great Gatsby is available for six or more.

*If our private dining area ‘10’ is available we can even place you in this space (which takes a maximum of ten guests).

In the wee hours of a Saturday morning, while you still slumber and the only ones awake are the Elves putting the final flourishes on the shoe-makers wares, the Café Hemingway’s Pastry Team begin to coax magic from saucepans and mixing bowls. In a flourish of flower and with the wave of a magic icing wand, they produce delectable delights to adorn their Weekend Cake Table. From muffins to macarons and cake pops to cupcakes the beautiful and the decadent await your eager selection every weekend morning. In a similar vein, the Café Hemingway’s Dessert Table, adorned with specially selected and freshly made desserts for your function, adds that extra sprinkle of something special to any occasion.

We aren't part of a franchise, a hotel or even a chain. So you'll have to get your fill of us at our single venue in Kyalami.

Now open, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night for dinner, and Sunday until 4pm!

We love our cakes & hope you do too! But in the rare event that there is a problem, please ensure that at least three quarters of the cake is returned to us on the same day of purchase, so that we can investigate & correct.
