Hemingway’s Is Famous!
We have been extremely humbled in the past few weeks to have had such amazing media attention!
As anyone who knows our ethos and story - “give a man a fish and he has a meal for one, teach him to fish and you create a lifetime of opportunity and you can feed a city”.
Cafe Hemingway’s was a project started for people, out of a passion for food and uplifting, and a passion for seeing people achieve their dreams.
It has grown beyond our expectations! From a long-ago hole in the wall coffee shop with 6 employees, we are proud to have grown to over 35+ full-time staff complement in a little over 2 years.
While we are still learning daily and although we are often faced with challenges, it is really exciting to know that Cafe Hemingway’s is moving in the right direction, and living up to our ethos. We have created an empowered family, that strive for perfection each day, a family and team that is always learning and growing from strength to strength.

We are excited to have been interviewed on 702 last week Friday, where we talked about our Cafe, and all the amazing tasting events and fine dining experiences we offer.. In particular, the Fortaleza tequila tasting and food pairing event and launch, that just happened!
We are also delighted to announce the growth of our team with talented additions that include everyone's favourite Top Chef competitor Sachin Vinod Gosai! We are hosting weekly Chefs Tables specials, as well as taking bookings for our first Fine Dining Gastronomy menu, "Midnight In Paris".
We welcome Rachael Howarth to the team, who only having joined us in the last few weeks, has already made a great impact in improving our service levels and general management!
And finally... the RSAR Awards for Service Excellence! we were honoured to be a finalist at the 12th Annual RASA Red Carpet Awards held in Sandton. Ultimately we received a Rosetta Award for Service Excellence, one of the most prestigious awards in the industry and one that recognises the effort and love that our team put into Café Hemingway’s.
